Cultivated Silk
Silk that is harvested from worms that are raised in captivity.  This silk is generally of high quality as great care is take to make sure the filaments are long
Mulberry Silk
 Silk harvested form silk worms that have been fed a diet of Mulberry leaves.  This silk is of the highest quality
Wild Silk
 Silk harvested from silk worms that grow in the wild eating a diet of whatever is available to them.  This silk is good but not of the highest quality
Satin
Sometimes can be very confusing.  Satin is a weave that  is shiny and lustrous.  Generally Satin sheets are not real silk.  The are real when they are called Silk Satin Sheets
Charmeuse Silk Known as the silk of the emperors.  It is known for its shine and smooth luster and elegant drape
Dupioni Silk
 A textured silk weave similar to shantung.  Irregular sized fibers are woven into the base of the fabric to create a texture
Habotai Silk
 A light weight silk that is soft and lustrous
Jacquard Silk
 		A silk which creates intricate woven patterns with a combination of both matte and shiny surfaces
Silk Noil
 Fabric woven in a natural color with irregular dark nubby spots.  It’s soft texture is wrinkle resistant , contemporary and classic.  Easy care and is very hardy
Silk Velvet  
 Real silk velvet is very expensive.  Normally the silk velvet that is found is a blend of silk and rayon
